I still haven't done the "random things" one that I was tagged for, but this one was easier, and less traumatic than I expected, probably because high school was a huge improvement on junior high, which was an improvement on elementary school.

Current fashions: After Blago, I thought abuse of position would continue to be the latest thing in scandals. Then a bunch of Democrats made a run away from Blago and towards income tax problems, with Tom Daschle in the lead. But now Michael Steele, the new Republican National Committee leader, has gone with misuse of campaign funds. Also, Steele used to be Mike Tyson's brother-in-law, but that isn't enough to get him to tysonic levels. He'll have to do it on his own, and I'm not sure he's got the right stuff. *makes popcorn*

In the meantime, nobody has sorted out what the bankers are doing with our money yet, and a lot of people just aren't getting that tax cuts are not the thing any more. I know food stamps don't strike most of us as high fashion, but if you've been in a grocery store the day that Social Security pays out, you know that giving poor people money for food is going to get cash into the economy pretty fast.

I'm amazed that the NSFW clips of Obama quoting a high school friend didn't get posted during the election. But they have now been used to make the best Christian Bale mashup ever. Do not play at work. Yes, that's really him. It's from an audio book.
